About Boakye Poku

My name is Boakye Poku, born in 1995 and raised in Accra, Ghana. Though I studied Building and Construction, I didn’t initially recognize that art would become my true passion. Painting is my voice, my heritage, and my way of connecting with the world. I create artworks that merge tradition with modernity, weaving together African cultural elements with contemporary themes. My visual storytelling draws deeply from our rich African history, using intricate details and symbolic narratives to bring stories to life. My style blends Realism, Expressionism, and Minimalism, allowing me to capture raw human emotion while also honoring our roots. Every piece I create is an invitation to reflect, to connect, and to rediscover African identity through fresh eyes. Through my art, I aim to inspire, educate, and bridge cultures. I believe in the power of storytelling to transcend time, and my mission is to celebrate who we are, where we come from, and the stories that shape us.
